    <summary type="html">I agree I had the same problem when MySQL was not actually running because I forgot to install the default tables.  Try starting MySQL and seeing if there are any errors first.</summary>

    <summary type="html">Got Apache up out of the box on suse 9.0, it comes with mySQL installed, but it wont run.  It says cannot find .../mysql.sock and of course there is no mysql.sock anywhere...  Want to install PhpNuke and get some interactive contentmanagement going on, got it in, but it needs SQL!</summary>
