My site was massively defaced today. Script was run that replaced all the index files and there is something coded into the system that is refusing to allow new index files to show properly.

You can see an example at www.wprservices.com

At this point I am clueless to how to fix my server. If anyone has experience in this and can instruct me on how to fix it, please either contact me here or at webmaster@wprservices.com

Appreciate any help you can give.

Send your httpd.conf to mike at kishmish dot com. I'll see if i can find anything weird in it.

or...if tribe.net will let you - post it here instead.

That may have been a waste of time. If your box was compromised, you can't trust any software that is currently on it.

Well the server actually needed to be reformatted and reloaded. It was running Red Hat 7.3 with apache 1.3. Granted it was patched but defiantely not the latest and greatest.

Will be reloaded with Mandrake 10.1 and everything will be patched to the latest and greatest for security purposes. Will need to get use to actually being able to use some of the new features of several things including Apache and PHP

Huge new security holes in PHP have just been reported. The story is on Slashdot (slashdot.org)

Hence why as soon as it is installed I will spend the time re-installing PHP, Apache, MySQL and several other items since they are anywhere from a build to two builds behind even with the Dec 6th release of 10.1
